I was watching an episode with a friend whose particularly geekery is history - he had endless fun playing 'spot the decade' for the sets, costumes, weapons, cars, pretty much everything in it. He was able to pin down the show as taking place somewhere between, oh, 1930 and 2011. It's ridiculously inconsistent.

Edgar Wright was on board before the factory line was in place. They probably have done with every director hired since 2008.

Was about to post the exact same comment. I too suspect that's one of the things Marvel wanted changed, probably to open the film up for future instalments/franchise possibilities.

You're a gem; thanks again!

(I have now read the interview - nice work, that's really awesome. It's one of those things you never really know about, just how much is set up in a show like this. It's good to know it's pretty genuine, at least from one person's POV. Thanks for arranging that!)

Ellen or 'Ellen'?

You know, I actually finished the episode thinking it was pretty great, loving the developments etc., it was only thinking about it after and reading a few reviews/comments that I started to feel that bit dissatisfied - even allowing for the fact that Lash probably will return later in the season, the structure of how

Congratulations; in true internet fashion you've managed to disagree without actually saying anything intelligent or helpful to the conversation. Care to say what you disagree with within my comment? Would you suggest recasting Mike Henry? Is someone of the right background less suitable for a part than someone of the

I think the writers are trying [too] hard not to ever let the show drag out the way it did in its first season, so they're making sure lots of story developments happen every episode. I do think it's preferable to the boring nature of the first 10-13 episodes… but yeah, it's feeling a tad rushed. I'm never feeling

That was exactly my thinking… but I hadn't thought that he might be Barry 2. I adore that idea. (Sizewise, though, looks more like it could be Henry or even Papa West)

I (a British person) had a conversation with my then-girlfriend (an American) a couple of years ago on a similar subject. It seemed that I found the subject of cross-racial performances more nuanced than she did; some of my points were as you cite, along with things like Mike Henry voicing Cleveland in Family Guy and

I may have gone a bit overboard there. It just seemed to undermine an amazing speech and performance for the sake of… what? Making the Doctor seem smarter (and arguably much, much dumber)? Making it all seem fluffier and less threatening for children? I really don't know the reason, besides the writers just wanting

Argh! It was so, so, SO good… but then there was that reveal that a) the boxes were empty and b) the two factions had been through it all fifteen times before. These kind of reveals are only there to make the writer(s) seem smart, not the Doctor. It doesn't make the Doctor's long term planning seem more impressive

Oh, there's logic in there, it's just still a little curious, given that even having been in the same number of films as the two Chrises she's still not been the lead or title character in one, nor has she arguably been as significant as them in the two Avengers films (well, maybe more than Thor in Age of Ultron), and

You're my new favourite person, thank you!

It's pretty surprising that at least the two Chrises aren't being paid more than her, given that they're (pretty undisputably, right?) more significant to the Avengers franchise and the MCU in general (both holding their own franchises under their belts). I suppose it makes sense that Ruffalo gets the lowest (as the

It's one of the reasons I was pleased the Schulz estate (and children) kept such a watchful eye over it - even if it's not a good movie, it should at least be a Peanuts movie.

I thought pretty much the same - B is enough for me to adore this movie. I like the animation from what I've seen, and everything in this review suggests that, even with its flaws, it will have everything I want from it. Bring it on.

Okay, that would be kind of amazing and really mess things up for anyone (like, say, Daisy) trying to see it as black and white. Plus it'd mean we get Joey back, even if for just one episode, so Rosalind can make him the offer.

#TeamMichael, and I'm not sure I've ever been happier than when Jane and Michael were kissing at the end.
