Ah, to be fair it isn't clear if he refused to do the accent or the audition itself (and the headline certainly suggests the former). Either way, the accent struck me as a bizarre aspect to complain about - it's like complaining that you were asked to do an Irish accent to play a drunk character, when the character

So he was auditioning for an Indian character and he was asked to put on an Indian accent? The nerve of those producers!

I'm feline very pleased with myself.

You're more forgiving than I ;) it wasn't just the slang though, iit was the whole nature of all the jokes (both the inaccurately labelled 'punning' during Sam Swift's first appearance and his entire stand-up routine). It was the kind of tone 'Galavant' got away with, but that was a musical comedy, not a period drama

The scenes with just the Doctor and Ashildr/Me were amazing. Everything else was lousy; a dumb plot, a non-threatening and nonsensical alien nemesis, and tonally and temporally inappropriate jokes. What a shame the story and the attempts at comedy got in the way of a terrific character study.

You're spot on, actually. This episode would have been much, much stronger without the alion.

I thought the first 10-15 minutes were simply wonderful. Then the plot started. And the comedy started. And the alien got involved. All three were awful and completely unworthy the terrific demonstration of character we got at the start.

II is the strongest overall. Forth has one stellar episode, two decent episodes and three pieces of shit.

That's a definite gripe of mine - all of the jokes and a good portion of Ashildr's dialogue felt far, far too modern.

That letter's not from Bob! He'd have used correct grammar! 'Treehouses of Horror', not 'Treehouse of Horrors'. Sloppy work, impostor.

I've always really liked Holland's performance on this show - even in the early days when she wasn't given much to do she brought out the beautifully broken side of her character (mixed in with the typical selfish teen attitude). I'm very pleased she's getting some meaty material now.

Is Lash Andrew? Unless he's basically insane when Lash I don't know what his reasoning would be for all the murders, but it might explain why he didn't kill Daisy…

I'm on #TeamMichael too, but one of my friends who watches it with me HATES Michael. I think (as the reviewer elucidates) the writers have done a phenomenal job with the love triangle, making them both believably viable and lovable in different ways (and giving them each enough flaws to keep a little bit of doubt

There are a lot of duff episodes in the second half of The Simpsons' run thus far, but I've always maintained they have several good episodes a season and at least one truly terrific episode every year (usually two or three), and when The Simpsons does terrific it's better than almost any other show out there, even if

"It’s haphazard, lazy storytelling, but that’s "Gotham" in a nutshell."

I'm fairly confident she will. Given that she almost made it into Age of Ultron, she's obviously on their minds. The latest I expect to see her is in Infinity War part 1, but she could show up in Black Panther, Thor 3, Guardians 2 or even (if they get her cast quickly enough) Dr Strange. Heck, with the Kree stuff

They'll never replace a good Spaghetti Western.

Captain Marvel's only been pushed back (this time) by four months, that's really not that much. Try not to be disheartened, we're getting another female (co-)titled film to allow for it! This is good news.

Black Panther's earlier by five months, Cap Marvel is only back by four months, to allow for another film with a titular female. This is awesome news.

But actual fights? How many occurred that lasted as long as this one, and how many occurred that DIDN'T involve Miss Piggy? When did Scooter ever attack ANYONE? It didn't strike me as slapstick, just as unpleasant brutality from a character who used to be sweet.
