I am so unbelievably excited for this. I rewatched a few episodes of Nathan For You the other day (The Hero and The Anecdote), reminded me how great that show is and how great he is. It will be interesting to see him in something that is fully, 100% scripted.

That tracks. I figure they’re gonna get too big for their britches, invest a ton of money into a property nobody cares about, and then all the indie nerds will turn on them, myself included. And thus the cycle continues.

I really liked the movie, but it kind of is a marvel movie with the set dressing of an indie dramedy. Bland cinematography, mediocre action scenes, that kind of stuff. It’s saving grace was that it was pretty funny and let itself get serious.

Steroids are cool

I do think we’re in a kind of bad time for the straight-up comedy. Brooklyn Nine Nine was one of the last, and it ended two years ago (I just realized that was two years ago, wow). Abbott Elementary is one, but there aren’t too many comedy shows getting a lot of acclaim nowadays. Most comedy shows nowadays are other

Nothing to add to this particular article, just want to say that the moment in Uncut Gems where Adam Sandler sobs upon seeing her ass tattoo is one of the funniest scenes in any movie ever.

Sorry for the split comments, was a mistake.

Jimmy Savile is a confusing example to give, because wasn’t his whole thing before being outed as a monster that he had a wholesome vibe?

I don’t have many ‘wants’ for this movie, other than it to be good. I only ask that we get Troy and Abed interactions, as many of the original side characters as possible, and establish that Leonard died of a heart attack at an orgy.

I kind of agree with you. I think a big part of Community was prioritizing being clever (kind of like Arrested Development), and while it was often both clever and funny, after season one if it wasn’t clever, odds are it wasn’t funny, either, if that makes sense. This isn’t a bad thing - Community is one of my

Maybe the Benny Hill theme playing

I never realized that was him on Happy Endings. That show was awesome.

Oliver? I hardly know ‘er!

Bruce Campbell was in Evil Dead Rise. He voiced the guy on the Necronomicon vinyl.

Feels like a weird complaint, I liked the trailer. Gave me a good sense of the vibe.

I actually think I liked The Swan even more than Henry Sugar, it just left me sitting there for a couple minutes. It almost seemed like a test, of how much you can take this super bleak story being told in this stylized way. And Rupert Friend was just phenomenal in it.

Anticipation for this show is gonna keep me going the next couple months. Fielder hasn’t failed yet (though he has only had two shows).

After a couple years it’s all gone

Finally, someone looking out for the little guy.

Very excited. Also all of these pictures look AI Generated,
