I liked First Man too. It was pretty interesting for the most part, but the moon launch at the end was incredible, and got one of the biggest emotional responses out of me that any movie has.
I like his movies, I was just agreeing that the article wasn’t really right in saying most of his movies are about single mothers.
I looked over all his movies and I couldn’t find any movies that focus on a single mother either. His movies are more about the absence of a father figure rather than the presence of a single mother.
We see a young Indy played by Chris Pine (or Zachary Quinto, either would work).
The aspect of the movie that I felt was the most off putting was the aliens thing. It felt like such a weird swerve for a series that previously dealt in christianity.
I ended up watching it alone after it left theaters, but part of me wishes I was able to experience it for the first time in theaters. There are some moments that I just know would have been awesome on the big screen.
