MeTV just ran the Season 4 episode "Who is Mr. X" this week: Bob goes on an early morning talk show with an attractive host who sweet talks him off the air and then ambushes him and the psychological profession on the air. It is the quintessential Bob Newhart episode, and a great primer for a Newhart newcomer.

House Calls was terrible. It was a single-camera, laughtrack sitcom that was more of a mid-60s type series than a late 70s show..

Sikking was on a classic episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with Ken Howard when Larry was trying to get membership in a WASP country club.

William Daniels' Dr. Craig and Asner's Lou Grant are two of the greatest characters in the history of television, but I'll give the nod to Daniels on the basis of 1) Dr. Craig being more overlooked than Lou Grant and 2) the 1970s Minneapolis sitcom Lou Grant being preferable to the more sanctimonious 1980s LA Lou
