When people make accusations the results of which result in press for the accusers and negative press for those that the accusers may reasonably have a problem with independently of the alleged incident the best course of action is to neither ignore the accusation nor assume it is true.

When you make bad regulations and technology moves beyond those regulations the answer is not to hold back technology but to make better regulations.
