Really surprised that Hydra Cap took it, especially given how solid the story line has turned out and how much of 2-4 are or potentially trash can fires.

This is very true, so much to the point that even proxies don't feel like they explore the idea of Superman well enough given how ingrained he is in pop culture.

While I still enjoyed Superman: Red Son it didn't quite hold up as well as I thought it would. The way it glosses over the historical elements makes the idea that Superman would always be this champion of justice seem disingenuous. I feel like this might be a larger problem with how the Elseworld stories were…
