Here’s the best I can tell you. Although with the caveat that I don’t own a current model bagger. I own a somewhat restored 57 panhead. By somewhat I mean it’s been brought back to life mechanically but still looks a little rough... It doesn’t have the cool springer front end (wide glide) and it’s full on bagger.

Not a Harley rider, but I’ll take a crack at it. Firstly, I love the sound. I know that there are (a lot of) people who don’t, but I love the raw sound. Even better when you control that sound with your wrist.

I got my start on early 80s UJMs by Suzuki and Honda, from 250s to 1100s. In fact my current Honda Pacific Coast 800 is the only bike I’ve owned that isn’t from the early 80s.
