I think you are misunderstanding what a "free market" is. Education in America is mostly a public industry, and the great majority of charter schools are funded with government grants, as well (Prime Prep included, as indicated in the article).

This is unbelievably offensive. Do you have any idea about the standard of living in Cuba today as opposed to the '50s? Life for the Cuban people in the aggregate was steadily improving—until Castro slowly turned it back into a third world country.

It is so silly, because the revenues would still be there (more, even)! They just would not go to the schools. The universities—of all institutions!—should have moral sense enough to realize this and do what is best for the students, athletes, and fans.

Well, it does seem silly to punch another idiot student when the media attention could sabotage a lucrative career in the public "eye." But what does the NFL have to do with this? It seems as though the NFL is doing its part by giving Bennett and Sherman a large forum to help spread the word.

This seems like an incredibly stupid thing for a fellow undergraduate to say. I am new to this "amateurism" in American college sports (this country should really move to a more European club model), but when a football program like Texas A&M could easily pay the tuitions of football players out of proceeds from the
