That’s an interesting decision.  Generally, a criminal defendant takes their victim as they find them.  It’s analogous to the “eggshell skull” rule in civil law, that says that a defendant doesn’t get a pass merely because the plaintiff was more susceptible to harm than the defendant anticipated.
