Yea it certainly looking like they are going that way. The showrunners have publicly stated they are big fans of Secret Avengers so it wouldn't surprise me if they went that way. Especially since Fury has called Coulson an Avenger already.

Thats cool. I like how the core team is made up entirely of normal agents without any powers. That would make a good movie too.

My problem with this scene and the other huge gun fight in that episode is the lack of collateral damage. They are both firing recklessly and no innocent bystander gets shot. Seriously? It took me right out.
