So, most people have finally just given up on quality audio entirely, it seems.

Yes, contrary to the reams of actual scientific data which already exists to verify global warming, there is, in fact, no evidence to support the existence of Santa. Which is too bad.
Um...okay. Let’s put your comment into context:
For my part, I stopped using the words “believe in” when referencing global warming. I only use the words “recognize” or sometimes “understand the reality of”. In my opinion, “believe” lowers the problem to the level of childhood: do you believe in the Easter Bunny or don’t you? That sort of thing.
LALALALALALA CAN’T HEAR YOU GLOBAL WARMING IS A HOAX THERE IS STILL SNOW IN ANTARCTICA AL GORE IS GETTING RICH.
Absolutely not surprised at all to see Marsha gracing the top of this post. She, literally-literally, has zero principles. All she gives a shit about is who has the capacity to grant her some power to wield and how can she best get her nose full of shit to make it happen. She is a waste of human tissue. Unfortunately,…
Tom, in your string, makes a good point. Fill your time, especially early on. Eventually you’ll find ways to not have to cram every second of your day with an activity, but for now it beats having nothing to keep you company but your own thoughts. Once upon a time, few things would terrify me more than the impending…
I don’t know if this helps, or not, but keep in mind that not every heavy drinker is an alcoholic—they’re just a heavy drinker. The primary difference boils down to this: a heavy drinker can either stop or moderate given enough personal impetus to do so. An alcoholic can’t moderate at all and eventually will get to…
It’s our age-old selfishness at work: I may not be much, but I’m all I think about.
Unfortunate that you did not receive the support you needed in the group(s) you attended. Personally, I used counseling and AA, and was eventually able to stop using the counseling. AA, as a whole, is very clear that they are not the only solution and fully encourage anyone who wants to try another way to do so. You…
Sarah, a good article, and series, all around. One unsolicited suggestion: please leave your relationship as a member of AA out of the articles, as it is a violation of the 11th Tradition against public level anonymity breaks. Bill W’s letter to Yale on 2/2/54 explains why this is so necessary better than anything I…
You actually just pointed out an even bigger issue with this change. If this movie was supposed to be a retelling, then you could change the characters however you like, and change their relationships and motivations, etc. But since this is intended to be a continuation of the story told in the books, then those books…
Because she hates white people, and that’s essentially her defining trait. She’s Odetta’s anger and scorn at her own experience being humiliated by white people during her civil rights activism personified, and she uses Roland and Eddie’s race as a large part of her justification for hating them. You don’t think…
It seems to me that Roland being a black guy is going to majorly change some of the scenes on the beach from The Drawing of the Three. Detta Walker is going to respond a lot different to Roland if he’s black than she did in the books where he’s white.
The interesting thing is that, unlike the Bond films, race actually plays a huge, explicit role in the Gunslinger books. I’m interested to see how they address it; hopefully they don’t just drop that aspect completely.
Yeah...the flu isn’t polio. But thanks for playing.
Weather is my Desert Island Album.
Yes, and most of them seem to have found a home on Gawker.
So, I’ve found that the only places which sell no bullshit olive oil are specialty stores, like this one:
They have both kinds of music there. Country AND Western.
