I really dislike NASCAR and a lot of it is because of crap like this.  They are the WWE of the racing world, appeal to the same demographic viewer base but much older and is far less entertaining than WWE.

The process for picking the flag bearer has nothing to do with “qualifications”. Folks are voted on by their peers, and in the event of a tie, the winner is chosen by coin flip. A black athlete lost to a white athlete in a popular contest combined with a coin flip. Are you suggesting that the other athletes did not…

What exactly are the qualifications you are referring to? Unless we know what instructions the voters representing the committees received you cant assume medal count means anything.
