didn’t they prove a while back that antibacterial soap doesn’t end up with you having fewer bacteria on your hands?

I think they actually recalled the Triclosan, but anti bac is still probably overkill unless you’ve got immune deficencies.

Soap is not actually about killing germs. It is about encapsulating germs in soap bubbles so you can then rinse them down the sink. So normal soap works for that just fine.

+1 to the superbug chorus, and adding that all that triclosan you’re washing down the drain is a big environmental concern as a water pollutant.

That stuff drys your skin out like crazy.

And fascist. Washcloths are fascist.

Nooo don't buy antibacterial hand soap! You are hurting more than helping.

But what happens when the superbug apocalypse arrives?

I though we weren’t supposed to be doing that outside of hospitals, schools, and other super germy places anymore? You know, overusing antibacterials and creating super resistant bacteria and global health and what not.

TRYING NOT TO BREED SUPER BUGS THATS WHAT. It’s like immune system boot camp.

antibacterial soap is bad for you since it leads to superbacteria. what’s with your smugness?

Is this for real? This has to be a joke, right? WTF did I just read?

“It’s OK, he wasn’t mocking that journalist, he was mocking *all* disabled people! Stop being so sensitive!”

I welcome the drag/sexism discourse. Some of the biggest misogynists I’ve met in my lifetime have been femme gay men and/or queens. Just the term “fish” for starters...

Products get recalled all the time, usually without all the fuss. You provide proof you had a bad batch and they give you a replacement or coupon. Since a lot of the bad batch went to Costco, they could’ve had Costco alert people about the recall (I’ve gotten automated phone calls from Costco telling me that there was

I’d have more respect for her if she just admitted that they shipped some bad batches or had to reformulate. I bought some of their sunscreen last year. It was crap. I’ve been wearing mineral sunscreen for 25 years or so, and I’m an inorganic chemist. The oils had completely separated from the sunscreen in the package

It’s disgusting on so many levels. And they’re blind to it. That’s terrifying to me, that they can’t, or won’t see the danger in what they’re doing.

For that matter, if France is so hell-bent on “rescuing” women for their own good from oppressive, patriarchal systems that demand obedience and chastity from them, then why aren’t they liberating nuns, too?

NPR had a story about that this morning. One of the poeple they interviewed on a beach in Normandy said he had seen nuns in habits at the beach the day before. No one bothered them. Here’s my shocked face.
