I personally think that taking a knee during the anthem is almost an ideal way for an athlete to protest. It’s obvious and visible, but not disruptive. It’s an accusation, without pointing fingers. It’s a polite way of saying, “I am not going to glorify a nation that refuses to properly address this issue.”

I will totally admit that I put on outfits when I vote. It’s like an event to me. I get really proud and patriotic. I don’t mean that I get dressed up really fancy, but I really plan my outfit to promote an image of myself. I think I’m more concerned with my ‘voting look’ than almost any other event.
