It’s not as isolated as you think. The tech industry as a whole knows about it and celebrities got caught up in it, too.

Whether it’s about Watergate or not, shouldn’t anyone in the gaming industry try as hard as humanly possible to avoid anything with -gate in the name, anyway?
I’m aware of Watergate, and that five people were arrested for it. That doesn’t make it not tone deaf as hell given the gamer-gate crap that got kickstarted with the “Five Guys” video...
I would love for them to add a character or even a piece of music for this beautiful soul.
Fixed that for you.
Dial it back a bit, Gandalf.
“I could buy this house, I don’t fucking need you.”
The first game was fun but didn’t sell well. EA most likely passed on a sequel because they didn’t believe they can profit off of an IP that didn’t sell well in the first place. It’s not bad business sense to pass on something that won’t likely make you money.
Honestly, Rocket League likely wouldn’t be what it is if the game streaming community wasn’t what it is. Even with social media taking over the marketing world, I don’t think anyone in ‘11 could have imagined that video games would be popular as a spectator event. I know I never saw this trend coming and hell, I still…
I do believe you are missing the point. EA is well aware that not being the ones to realize Rocket League was going to be successful (against all odds, because again, it was a reboot of a FAILED game, let me just re-emphasize that for you), and that is precisely why they explicitly said ‘we want to find the next…
It wasn’t pitched as a finished product to EA. I know it’s fun now. In 2011, it was just a reboot of a failed game.
Isn’t that the point, though? EA could have had Rocket League but they didn’t. They blew it on this one and don’t want to lose out on the next one.
Before even clicking the article I thought to myself, “Man I hope Jackie Chan isn’t going to praise the Chinese government and talk about how superior China is to the West.”
I wasn’t too far off. He hasn’t changed a bit.
Honestly, this sort of news is nothing really surprising coming from Jackie Chan’s mouth ever since he became a dog of Mainland Communist China forgetting his roots in Hong Kong & his relationship with the Western World.
I can’t wait for the day when people can have an opinion like this and not be forced to apologize.
First off, it’s a stupid opinion that implies stupid things, which is why people got angry. You can’t categorize people’s talents and abilities simply based off their gender.
I agree. His apolgy was oddly heartfelt, and came with a clear admittance of discrimination. That’s rare in this day and age where apologies are just official bs with no substance.
i hate to be the one to break this to you but that day was actually in the past. you missed it entirely pal.
Kudos to him for making an actual thoughtful apology, rather than a “i’m sorry you were offended” non-apology.
This is stupid. It has nothing to do with gender but with the person itself. if it would have to do with gender then Spielberg movies would be the same as bay’s movies, or come even close, which <surprise< they don’t
And he was not forced or pushed to apologise he choose to himself. he could have owned up and said that…
