Huh, really? Publishers do this all the time, they’re reactive. That’s why you always see publishers and developers releases similar titles to a hit, to follow the trend.

Sony can get away with it because if they publish it, they can stick it front and center on their own platform with no marketing cost. Or it can become a sweetener down the line as a free game for PSN members.
You think this is the first time a publisher hasn’t made the right decision? Do you know how many pitches and proposals publishers received to consider?
Racing games are hard to make. The physics can be really tough to get right.
They do take chances. They just didn’t take one with Rocket League.
Quality and sales are too different things.
Even variations of alternate ‘racing’ would be good to see again. I’d love to see Destruction Derby make a comeback. It seems like today we’d have the tech (physics, online and social) to make it work really well.
Sales... The Sims as a franchise is one of the top selling video game franchises ever...
The marketing department would dictate the budget for that. They’ll just use what budget they’ve had approved.
Eh, I dunno... a corporation being reactive to a trend? Kinda par for the course.
Games go through that process all the time... but it doesn’t mean it’ll be a success. A game being fun, or well made, doesn’t mean a game will be a success.
I don’t think anyone could have predicted the success of Rocket League. So I’m not surprised EA didn’t go with it.
If Jackie Chan is talking, it’s usually a good time to tune out.
I’m still looking forward to it, but that doesn’t stop the Microsoft demo from being bad.
Yeah, it was bad. I don’t think that kind of packaging is going to sell a headset.
Considering that Sony’s VR presentation was bad, and the Final Fantasy XV demo on the Microsoft stage was bad, this isn’t too surprising.
Look in this thread. And use Google.
Okay.
Privaledged? Really? You claim that knowing the current state of obvious inequality?
It’s how to catch up. A lot of great candidates have been passed over for years due to either their ethnicity or sex. Now they’re getting a fair shot. Again, this isn’t a case of not hiring the best person, these people are suitable for these roles, just in the past, they wouldn’t get the chance.
