Possibly my favorite game ever. I can’t remember the last time I had to play a game every day until I beat it. Beat it last night and now so sad although have lots more side quests to do. What’s the bet the next game will be called (or subtitled) ‘son of God of war’ or ‘son of kratos’ and has Mario like elements where

“Generations” are dumb. There should be no PS5 5 or Xbox One Two. There should just be a Playstation and an Xbox. Every 2-3 years, their internals should be updated and that’s that. If you buy a new system, you simply get the new stuff.

I think you are the only person, sans myself, that has ever believed that 60 fps is not the be-all-end-all. For example, when Halo jumped from 30 to 60 fps (Master Chief Collection, Halo 5) it made for a MUCH worse experience. Not everything needs to blaze by at 60 frames.

Except that’s not true, y’know? Sometimes 30 FPS absolutely the correct framerate for a given game. You could make the case for having some games run 24 frames as well. That stuff should always be tailored to the artistic needs of the game.

That said: gosh, I want to play Monster Hunter: World consistently in

Get a better job. Gaming is luxury.

The consoles aren’t going anywhere. The world isn’t going to stop rotating just because you can’t afford something. Wait for a price drop for both the console and games, then you can experience it yourself. Getting a console at launch is rarely a smart choice.

As a pro owner as well, I completely disagree. The visual improvement from the base console can be significant. Not to mention the framerate stability in lots of games like God of War alone make it worth it

Both PS4 Pro and the default PS4 support HDR, sooooo...

It’s fantastic. If you have a 4k tv, there’s no reason not to.

It’s the same appeal as photography, period. You see something cool and beautiful and you want to capture it.

I’ve looked intently at the patch notes of every single update hoping for photo mode. I’ve already beaten the main story but I will absolutely play through it a second time once photo mode is added so I can get some killer shots of this beautiful game. Hell, I already have well over a hundred screenshots saved haha

infamous second son started this trend right? love that game.

I used to never care about this feature, but just this week I started using it in Wipeout Omega Collection and now I just keep pausing every 3 seconds during non-VR races just to take screenshots.

A valid perspective, but I think a lot of the audience for this game is actually interested/invested in the drama that led up to the events of RDR.

i’ll for sure cop to the fact that gta online wasn’t for me but i at least appreciated what they were trying to do with it and can appreciate it from afar without having to say “fuck this entire game because i don’t like the online component” GTA V’s single player was/is superb

At a minimum, we’re looking at 25-30 hours. Also, the cool thing about games: you can play them more than once.

I cannot wait for this. Red Dead Redemption was my game of the generation and this looks like its keeping up the quality of its predecessor. I hope they bring back the “Strange Man” in black.

OK.

Thanks for your valuable and insightful input.
