Oh, honey.

I’m not sure I follow, could you be more specific?

The NY Times article says that he knew about it and was helping her with the legal process, unfortunately.

He knew about this. He arranged for his attorney to work on the settlement.

Well “Call Me by Your Name” had a similar plot and I didn’t hear nothing but praise for the romance.

Dustin Hoffman’s character was well above the age of consent — the “graduate” (from college) — so no parallel at all.

I see, an unfun yet concerned troll.

According to people who worked with him they were fighting a LOT in the days leading up to his death.

He was 17 at the time. What age is ok for you? 15? 11?

Yeah, bad people can be rape victims, too.  Hell, rapists can be rape victims.

How is it a leap? She chose to jostle her way to the front of the movement knowing full well that she had this abusive history. What would make her seek prominence in a movement that did not seek out her leadership specifically?

Holy shit. That really adds an extra layer of fucked-up-ness.  Nevermind what kind of role he had in her film, but that she knew him since he was 7?!?

I theorize that it functions more like a learned behavior pattern. If it’s done and not punished and even rewarded, the subconscious sees it as acceptable.

She played his mother in a film (when he was 7) and 10 years later she rapes him in a hotel room. This woman is fucking sick.

I haven’t read the article but -”

Yes. Yes it is.

They should just write about it. They’re responsible for reporting what happened, not how people choose to use it. Victims can be abusers and abusers can be victims. That is the no-spin, messy reality.

One is enough.
