Because people like to panic. Ironically everyone cancelling cards is going to cause far more financial damage than the hackers themselves.

The digital world can be a real....
So the hackers were in the database that contained this data. They don't know yet what the extracted. The CC numbers were encrypted (per standard compliance), and the passwords were salted and hashed. Basically, change your Steam password to be safe (and your others if you're lazy enough to not have variety) and keep…
Where did you read the combat is unchanged? I played the game earlier this week and it has been improved a lot. I actually enjoyed the melee I tried. It's not the best combat around, but that's not the focus here. The adventures, story, and world are. But sure. If this means we'll see more Skyrim and less Duke…
Did you read the actual review or just Kotaku's number and a blurb? That's what's wrong with game reviews. Sites use different rubrics in their reviews. Joystiq's five stars doesn't mean 100% per se. If you made it to the end:
I played it on 360 Tuesday night at the official launch party, and it was pretty impressive. Definitely a step up from Oblivion and the controls were generally tight (the UI was designed for the controller). I'd say it's worth playing on console if your only other option is no Skyrim for months. It won't look as good,…
Looks like Notch has another winner on his hands. Congratulations to the Minecraft team!
But seriously. So long as you're enjoying it.
Yeah. That's no different than any other Elder Scrolls game. You can train skills through books, paying trainers, or by using them enough. If you are doggedly persistent, hypothetically you could have 100s across the board. But it'd take forever.
I was mostly being facetious (so long as there's no Big N Rich or Hank Williams Jr.) I definitely own a few country tracks on Rock Band. "Sin Wagon" is a blast.
Well, hot damn! A mega country pack! Time to crack me some cheap beer and sing about my woman, my truck, and America in a way that in no way challenges the comfortable status quo!
Yup. Hilariously the one in San Diego is three stalls down from the Apple Store so it only enhances the similarities.
Played it last night, and the 3rd person actually is a huge improvement over Oblivion. The guy next to me played almost entirely in the view and the game looked fine. Not like Oblivion's awful camera.
I played it last night, and it definitely looks more polished than Oblivion. Everything is more detailed, and there are a lot of subtle changes to things that just take it to another level.
The Skyrim launch party in LA last night was awesome. On top of that, my fifteen minutes with the game made me so much more excited for Friday now.
Nope. You'll have to come back in a year for TAY GOTY.
That's the long and short of it. I forget my Wii exists most days because the vast majority of the games I want to play aren't on it. For yet another generation of consoles, Nintendo's box has become an exclusives box and little else. It'd be so much easier if I didn't need a console just for those.
Do you have onboard video? If so plug into that. My hunch is your video has defaulted back to the onboard and you need to get into the BIOS and make sure that your GPU is what's outputting the video.
Sweet! I noticed that, though have had Steam reset those clocks in the past (here's looking at you, Bioshock 2), but it sounds like Bethesda is on it.
The game is using Steam to authenticate whether physical or digital. I am getting a disc copy, but you can't play if Steam can't authenticate the game.
