So if anyone is tempted to buy Two Worlds II on Steam and doesn't mind non-Steam stuff, Direct2Drive is selling it for $12.50 instead of $25. Just letting you all know...

Oh man. "Heart-Shaped Box" should be fun on drums. The other Nirvana songs maybe not so much...

Remember, kids. If a woman offends you, lashing out with hateful sexist terms is the best way to respond. Don't bother dismantling the core of what was wrong with her comments or try to be constructive and turn a negative to a positive.

The massive blackout last night in San Diego county made me realize just how darn flimsy our infrastructure is. I am buying provisions and a handgun this weekend, as well as a Tunnel Snakes jacket. Because Tunnel Snakes rule.

Right, and it makes sense for manufactured goods and warranties. But when you are billing for a service, and that service cannot be rendered for whatever reason, you shouldn't be able to charge for said service. It's just basic business ethics and building good will. It's tantamount to Comcast off-loading its expenses

Corporations: all the rights of an individual, none of the responsibilities or obligations.

Really? So if I say you can rent a beach house for a week for $300, then kick you out after three days, I am totally cool keeping the full money? Because that's essentially what's happening. You're paying for 30 days of service. If you get less than that, you should be issued credit.

There are a few around Boston Commons/Fanueil Hall. Legal Seafood is always solid if you don't mind chains. I was a huge fan of Burke's Seafood and Kagawa Sushi in Quincy, but they're on the south suburbs. Accessible by red line but a bit of a walk. I lived in Quincy so maybe I am biased too.

The T is actually pretty good (though waiting for trains can be annoying) and can get you most places (with taxis and your feet able to cover the rest). Having moved to the west coasts, I miss the efficiency of East Coast transit. Copley is right on the red line, I think, so you should be set.

Oh man, how could I forget to mention Sunset. Best. Bar. Ever.

Fanueil Hall is a cool place to get lunch and see a little history. Head to the North End (a short walk away) to get some delicious Italian pastries, and walk a little further to see the historic North Chapel. If you have a car, you can drive to the Blue Hills and hike up to an old fortification. They are quite nice

O.o

I do. I didn't notice that it required that actually. But the gas canisters and extinguishers should be free to throw. And if he gets close enough to a barrel blast it for splash damage.

Yeah, he was a bastard. Basically, run around and throw explosive barrels, gas canisters, and fire extinguishers at him. If you can get a frag at his feet as soon as the fight starts then pull a few headshots that helps too. It took me maybe a dozen tries, but he goes down quick after a few barrel hits.

No, but one time I spiked my controller after losing a race in Burnout and it landed square on the family jewels. I forgot all about the race pretty darn quick.

I so wish I could have been there to see that disc snap.

Deus Ex: Y U NO LET ME SLEEP?

Bethesda's dumbing things down again. The whole series is way too casual and mainstream now. Because esoteric means better. In fact, if you play CRPGs with graphics, you're a poser.

If the leveling system is the same as other Elder Scrolls, then there will only be a soft cap. Raise your major skills 10 ranks, get a level. Eventually you'll have all your major skills at 100. Then you can't level anymore. Fallout was different because it was XP based.

Anyone else head to the theater to see "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"? I thought it was a pretty solid dark fairy tale, though maybe not as scary as some people would have hoped. I did a full review of the movie if anyone's interested ( [popblerd.com] ), but I'd love to hear what everyone else thought.
