D2D sent out some unique codes (as in one time use coupons) to users for 50% off Rift for the weekend. I have the trial installed, but if I don't like it, does anyone want my code?

Had a cookout with friends tonight (and some Mario Kart 64 afterwards). It made me wonder: why isn't there a cologne that smells like straight charcoal smoke? Because boy does it smell manly.

Blew a tire this morning, which is going to cut into my June "fun funds". Thank God for that free copy of InFAMOUS!

It's like half of Kotaku has never driven a car or is still waiting to develop peripheral vision...

Rocking through Bioshock 1 & 2 thanks to my excitement at the new Bioshock Infinite screens.

Got to see the System of a Down reunion show in San Diego over the weekend. They were great. If you have a chance to catch them on any of the remaining legs of the tour, I totally recommend it.

My own working definition of hipster is anyone who uses culture or entertainment (usually obscure in nature) as a way to alter others' perceptions of them or to craft for themselves a particular public image.

Yes. Immensely so. I had to resort to jumping back and forth and uppercutting him.

Oh man, I had no idea the store was down for another 30 days. Now I have sour grapes too!

Sadly, Skype getting integrated into Kinect is probably what's going to sell me on getting one. I like the idea of laying on the couch when I video call home. Though games I care about other than Dance Central are certainly gravy as well.

Did you not catch the 60 days for pre-existing PSN+ subscribers? Sure, InFAMOUS and LBP have sequels, but I am way happier to have the choice of full retail PS3 games instead of just some throw away PSN arcade stuff.

And just like that, all is forgiven, Sony. Kudos.

I suppose I should have clarified that I am looking at it from the vantage of potential upstart developers. Those that can afford to develop for both are going to do it, and if you can, obviously it makes more sense to do so. I don't mean PSN should die or that no one should make games for it if they can. But starting

Actually, I own all three of the major consoles and play my PS3 more than my 360. Nice try though. Very mature.

My managers surprise me with deadlines and reports. Not cool.

Really? PSN devs are now running close to a month with little or no income, depending on how much they rely on PSN. If I told you you don't get a salary for the next month, I am pretty sure your personal budget is going to take a pretty big hit.

Try getting into an online RPG but avoiding the PvP areas. Something like Lord of the Rings Online or World of Warcraft where the focus in on PvE.

Does brink require an "EA pass" style activation to play online? In other words, if I go to Blockbuster after work (yes, they still exist), can I rent it and give it a go this weekend? Or am I going to be stuck doing single player only? It seems cool but I want to "try before I buy", as it were.

Depending on the resolution you game at, you could even get by with a slightly lower card than the 560, as your CPU (while still a great one) is going to be a slight bottleneck. If you can find a good deal on a 200 series or 4800 series (like <$100 area for the higher end ones), it might even be worth saving away the

Probably not. Unless you have a ton of background processes, anything after 4 GB offers increasingly smaller bonuses for performance. Though if you are a multi-tasker with Netflix, iTunes, downloads, etc. all running as you game, it would help. And if you can get it cheap, why not?
