The drivers whining notwithstanding, it was good contest. After all the talk about officials enforcing track limits they ignored Vettel's constant and flagrant offs as he pursued Alonso. Alonso may have pushed the boundaries of defensive driving but they were both fighting for position....I expect a lead car to do

I've owned 3 BMW's over the years....a 3 Series and two 5-Series. I presently own a heavily modified Corvette C6 which evolved into a dedicated track car. When selecting a new car, we each have our own preferences, wants and needs. For instance, a 2-seat sports car may not be practical for everyone. There are all

The abrasive, 'dental drill' sound of electric auto racing. I won't be watching but I'm all for electric automobile racing. My only problem with all the green technology in auto racing is that it supplants 'traditional' auto racing (such as Formula 1 which has sadly evolved into a gimmicky green racing venue). IMO

I was impressed by how many people stopped (and by how few actually ventured down to check on the occupant(s) of the wrecked car) and by the fast response time of the ambulance. I wonder if the driver had a medical problem that caused him to veer off the road?

You're right about the more powerful than advertised L88 engine. It was a beast in its day. That said many don't consider the Corvette a "muscle car" in the strictest sense of the term.

In the United States 7 of the 10 so-called "American Made" vehicles are Japanese brands. I wonder if the Japanese use near the same percentages of foreign sourced parts for their domestic auto production.

Very sad....a child now without parents. I was never a big street racer but I haven't always been a saint either. Feeling an ongoing need for speed I evolved into an avid, amateur road racer. There are numerous legal, safe road racing venues throughout the country.....SCCA, NASA, HPDE courses and local car club events

bravo zulu

I appreciate how you feel but IMO the fact that Fux is successful with a large car collection doesn't lessen the sting of having your Enzo damaged due to the needless negligence of others. I still feel for the guy.

Good stuff! The big battleships were impressive....not only could they hurl projectiles (the weight of an automobile) 20+ miles but their massively armored hulls provided unequaled protection. The thick hull (up to 18" of steel I believe) could supposedly stop more modern anti-ship missiles cold....at least prevent

Well put! There are trade-offs for size and portability. When I buy a new smartphone, tablet or a Surface Pro, how easy the device is to dismantle is not a consideration. You're right....the average consumer (myself included) doesn't care.

As the obama regime systematically degrades America's military the future of the A-10 is uncertain at best. Although the projected savings from mothballing the A-10 is a proverbial drop in the bucket compared to overall government deficit spending, the real tragedy would be suffered by our military personnel on the

In a word yes. The former Soviet bloc countries, including the Russians, have extensive photo catalogs of US and NATO military aircraft intercepted in close proximity to their airspace or military assets. Whether on land, on or under the sea, in the air or in outer space the 'games' continue.

It seems to be a fairly dangerous sport....perhaps most of all for the spectators lining the course.

A rose by any other name....it's always been the "Dodge Viper" to me. I'm a 'Corvette guy' but I've always admired the Viper. It's good to see Viper fielding a heritage based livery.

Without building false hope, I'll take the news as a positive sign. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Michael, his family and friends.

I race a modified Corvette C6 so I'm biased but I agree, the Corvettes are by far the best sounding GT cars at Le Mans. As one writer once said the Corvettes are "the Gods of V8 thunder!" Ferrari, Porsche and others each have their signature sound but IMHO there's nothing better than the snarl of a naturally aspirated

For many years I've carried the Leatherman "Wave" tool (in a custom, leather belt holster). Being much more than a knife, I value the Leatherman tool for its functionality, versatility and quality of construction. The Leatherman Tool has proved its worth repeatedly.

At least the vehicle and cabin were insulated well enough that the occupants weren't fried.

I can see the self-driving car being beneficial in certain circumstances (for the elderly, long interstate trips, etc.) but to say it's the "...future we need" (on a mass scale) is disturbing. For many reasons I still value the human element with regard to driving. I don't want a society where robotic cars completely
