“It’s only about an iPhone-length shorter....” Why are we still using the imperial and metric measuring systems? This iphone-based measurement seems like it would work a lot better.
Hot damn, Doug E. Fresh is good with the numbers, too. Well done, sir.
I also had a 2-door GTI and always wished I had the 4-door. Eventually my girlfriend got an A3 hatchback, which she later destroyed. It’s still on the road somewhere in Wisconsin. And this has been Volkswagen Group memories with Doug.
So a little back story on this car: It’s been a figure in the local autocross circle for well over a decade; known lovingly as the Phrog.

Forgive us if we believe that complex economic issues deserve ***context***
3rd gear: Can confirm. I’m an engineer working in the auto industry (Michigan) and both Tesla and Apple have reached out to me via LinkedIn in the past few months. Within days of each other, too, which was mildly interesting. Other colleagues have been getting contacted as well, but I don’t personally know of anyone…
Seems like it would make a lot more sense to buy a nice luxury car, a dedicated racing car, anda decent truck or SUV to tow it with whatever this is going to end up costing.
