I’m wondering if that slab is super smooth around the tracks. It reminds me of seeing bicyclists go over steel plates left in the road. There’s just no real traction on them.

Came for a beetle recommendation. Left satisfied.
From everything I’ve read, these are actually really great cars. Its kind of awesome that they are pushing the envelope with what was initially kind of a large, Toyota-engined, auto equipped, boulevard cruiser.
Yep. It’s the same reason I can’t get a turbo Subaru Forester with a manual transmission anymore. :(
It costs money to test and federalize each model iteration. So it just isn’t worth it to pay for a spread of engines where the take rate isn’t going to justify the cost of getting the engine or transmission approved by the feds.
To “fill the gap” would have meant releasing a non limited edition model. I think they were trying to milk the market on this one. Hence the owner’s annoyance.
It’s one thing to do this with a race car or an elise, but I would be super concerned with sitting on the thin carbon fiber sill of my multi-million dollar hyper car to get in and out.
Isn’t this technically in the next size class up?
The value would probably change the crime depending on local laws. Only familiar with the north east, but the type of charges you see are usually tied to value of what was stolen.
Damn you for showing me the entrance to this internet worm hole!!!
I thought I just read in automobile or Road & Track that this car already sold at auction. Am I going crazy or did it get flipped already?
Haven’t gotten all the way through, but an edit needed on the sentence: The car I had expected to get comfortable with this car much more quickly.
Ha ha! You and me both. And the unfortunate thing is that these things are going to hold their value so much better than the competition will!
And lose out on everything that makes the R the R. I think the sport trim is probably going to be a more usable real-world car but c’mon. Once the engine size changes and there’s all types of changes to the suspension you’re fighting a losing battle in beefing up the sport to Type R levels.
That said, it will be…
Also of note is that Daikoku Futo is a short bus ride away!
I for one am looking forward to the new WRX engine that this vehicle’s new engine indicates is on the way if the “all new” is to be believed.
From what I hear it drives really well and looks good in person. Don’t see the problem with this toyota.
I have a feeling the Si will be 70% of the car with 40% of the looks and will likely be the answer us old fogies are looking for.
Go home. You’re drunk on nationalism!
