Neat. Pretty much what I thought. Thanks for the link

Cool. Yeah I get the lock up factor with quick changes in load/RPM, so essentially it allows you to do a shitty job rev matching and get away with it. Not hatin, just saying. It’s pretty much what I thought.

What’s the deal with a slipper clutch? Can you just bang through downshifts, barely have to blip? The slipper smooths it out or something?

Preach on brother. I have a 09 GTI DSG (fine... it’s fine) and a 98 GTI VR6. The VR6 is perfect in almost every respect. Almost nothing like that exists nowadays. So sad. Coupla air bags, ABS, hydraulic steering, an actual throttle cable, no electro-nanny BS. I had to do crazy ECU reprogramming on the 09 to get the sta

I don’t cheap out but don’t usually slurge on tools. I must say: I swear by all sorts of tools I’ve gotten from Taiwan. The quality is way better than it has any business being. (check the package, autozone, etc can have some nice ass Taiwan made tools, NOT the Chinese stuff!)

Really? I’d disagree. I felt like they’ve doing almost the same thing since 2006/MK5 aside from the infotainment/tablet intrusion. Look at the layout, seats, everything of a 2017 compared to a 2009. Not hatin’, just saying

Can confirm. Man, when my Great Bagel Search of Seattle started, I didn’t realize how many “5 star” bagel places there were. Then I tried them...sigh. Luckily, a few good ones have popped up lately - Schmaltzy’s, Porkchop & Co, Mt. Bagel, etc

Seen in various parts of Alaska...These are considered ‘fine’ by the Powers that Be (on inspections, etc)

One tweak I would make is (if on the highway) get off at Idaho Falls, take route 26/31 to Jackson then you can go by the Tetons en route to Yellowstone. Just be sure to check the forecast= whacky mountain weather.

5,000?!? Well, hit me up if you’re in the Seattle area. I ride a Buell and could at the very least give you a heads up if you’re looking for good roads/general advice.

Immoral??

Nautiluses-> Nautili ??

Maybe? It’s kinda like peanuts - smokehouse flavor and all that. Maybe smoky chipotle raisins? Kinda like a tamarind thing?

No, not that. That has the Bio-pace crankset, u brakes - just more proprietary stuff to go wrong that you can’t replace. Seems neat but it’s really not.

I’d agree. Maybe he should get something like a mid to late 90's Specialized Stumpjumper?? Those are great.

I’m a Golf/GTI man, any generation, but the Jetta wins for sure in it’s MK4 guise. Let alone in GLI trim...drool

Adblocker: ublock origin. Do it.

Ah, yeah, GTI for sure (also biased). Of the 5 Torch recommended, why do I get stuck with a Kia Soul?!? Not a truck/van/electric guy. Kia Soul. G T I!

Nailed it!!! I have not and would not consider a FCA car, manual purist or not.
