I hope the designer didn’t lose their marbles while making that thing!

And the result? Something similar to my son’s floor, except his has Legos as well.
Ever seen a “marble tsunami?” You have now.
It is rated R. It naturally has a smaller potential audience and lower revenue expectations.
Right?? I’m sick of the shaky camera and quick cut tendencies that make up pretty much every action movie nowadays.
I can’t really think of a good example where shaky cam serves any necessary aesthetic or conceptual purpose. So I’m on board.
Shaky. Cam. Must. Die.
I loathe shaky cam. It’s distracting and all it does is make it impossible to tell what’s going on. The only time it’s ever done right was in REC and that’s it.
This x1000
If nothing else comes from this film except to kill or at least severely curtail shaky cam and blurred action shots, it will have quite possibly saved humanity. I’m a million percent not exaggerating.
Totally this makes sense to me. Just saw it last night (loved it) and felt like I was on a high speed rollercoaster in a wind tunnel with a black hole in the car in front of me sucking my eyes towards dead center except to look at some of the extra-wide-shot gorgeous vistas during (very infrequent) slower moments.
Mad Max: Fury Road has earned considerable acclaim since its release, and over on his blog, commentator and editor…
I’m not super devastated about this, but I do hope the failure of Tomorrowland doesn’t become another drop in the “audiences don’t really want original movies” bucket.
After 7 years and a whole lot of vampire sex watching, I’m leaving io9. Gather up friends, this is the goodbye post.
II,ll get lynched for this but... I liked the movie as a pulpy b-movie and hated what I read of the comics. Because of a bunch of factors, I only ever read volume 2, the War of the World act, and I found it just so mean-spirited. Almost every character was unlikeable, and there were way too much rape and attempted…
I think one of the reasons I really loved this is that the style reminded me a lot of both Fallout and Wasteland, but with more vehicles. And yes, obviously both games were influenced by Mad Max.
So you just came on here to say you don’t plan on seeing it?
Hold on a sec, The Toecutter is back, but not as The Toecutter?!?!?
Hey everyone, go see it so George Miller will make us another one. It’s a really wonderful film, I saw it last night and the obsession has crept up so hard since that I’m considering skipping work this afternoon to see a matinee.
