Epic

Ah.

Agreed

Sometimes yes sometimes no. Brand actually means a lot more than age. I would drive a 10-year old CR-V before driving a new Wrangler for safety’s sake. I would also drive a 3-year old CR-V before driving a 10-year old CR-V for the same reasons. It’s worth spending the money even if it’s not foolproof in my mind as a

Been a while since I looked. I have no doubt you could get that down though. There were some bonkers $120/mo deals last year.

Exactly. Brilliant!

Unfortunately very true. It’s too bad, but it’s very true.

Exactly. They have their place. Just like long loans, they are a tool that can be used to get you ahead, but the vast majority use them to plant their butt on nicer leather without regards for the future.

I was... alright. I really tried to advocate for my customers... unless they were mean. I’m not doing anyone any favors if they treat me like crap, say anything racist or sexist, talk down to their kids etc...

Your smart choice now will likely yield and even nicer car in the future though

I was thinking the same thing. Sure, I have a 72 month loan, but it’s for just over $9000

I don’t need the latest and greatest, but I drive a child around, so having newer safety features is big. I don’t need new, but 10 years old is too much risk for me.

We’ve all been there. Keep your chin up. You’ll do fine.

Not an option without public transit.

I took a 72 on a 4-year old Honda, and I don’t feel bad either.

Awesome advice, but not everyone can do this.

Leases can make sense on cheap cars. $120/mo to always drive a new Sentra can make a lot of sense for someone who wants the latest safety features and a constant warranty.

This is smart

Depends on the price. Between cheap GAP from Progressive, and an out-the-door of $16,000 on a low mileage xB, coupled with insane reliability, zero down made a lot of sense on a 72mo loan for us. We paid it off with little effort.

There are good reasons to use a loan like that, but they aren’t the reasons that most people take loans like that for. I love a long loan on a car, and have used them in the following ways:
