Again, this is really sounding like a semantic argument. While every interior is in the eye of the beholder, the fact of the matter is that the WRX interior is well known and widely accepted for feeling cheap. Call it what you will (sparse, plain, simple, minimalist, etc...) cheap is still cheap.
