If anything, I think it just exposes that Dune exists as a plot thin vehicle for lore and it gets worse in the other books (Children of Dune for example is basically every character saying “what is the most logical thing to do” and then arguing through a flowchart disguised…

There’s class/race/social capital elements here that are’t being discussed. It’s like when MRA dudes try to dispute sexual assault statistics and say “look at all these dudes who were convicted!” and they parade men who are poor and mentally ill as evidence that the system works.

Comedians even if they see themselves as outsiders are very much on the inside and their work is often a confirmation of prejudice. What they are saying and what people are responding to is “Hey! Check out this messed up stuff that we do! But it’s not like we are gonna stop because we’re not really morally conflicted…
