I’ve become aware of the fact that a lot of people see Cartman as the hero of South Park rather than the villain and these same people often don’t realize that their latest turn in satire is in some way a correction of their past and a more socially conscious perspective.

I think the problem is that we are looking at writers who have a myopic view of culture/art and don’t know how to contextualize or appreciate things outside of what they consider, incorrectly, high art.
