Lots of reasons! Like, this sort of music sucks. It’s constructed with the same structural logic as pop songs that aren’t “heavy” (but are just as bad). It’s really kitschy. It’s basically sports bar rock that’s afraid of itself.

This isn’t heavy. It is bad, however.

I’m not talking about being interesting or having fun. Here’s a tip: being really defensive about being a consumer of pop culture really doesn’t give you special abilities to sense the fun and interesting aspects of another person. It also doesn’t help to call someone a “pompous dick” or boring in an unprompted tirade…

Not admiring garbage does not mean not having fun.

Ever watch one of her movies? It’s not satire and, like most comedians, she doesn’t understand what the word means.

Don’t worry. I don’t think it’s a very useful term. It has grown beyond what was once meaningful to the mess that it is now (as evidenced by some of the comments here).

This is just a move that corny people do. What gets me is that no one is asking “why do I date idiots who do stuff like this?” Maybe it’s time to for the writer and fellow commenters to start assessing what they think is attractive. You are all enabling “Hey...”
