Same thing as the London’s “Walkie-Talkie” building melting Jaguar XJ’s bits 10 years ago, revealing in the process some of the crappy materials Jaguar was peddling their wealthiest customers at the time... In that case, the building developers actually paid for the damage.

Obviously an Infiniti G35/37 Coupe 6MT. They were literally more luxurious versions of the contemporary Z with a longer wheelbase for GT-like stability. I absolutely loved my G35, but there’s hardly any available that has not been slammed, stanced, or disfigured in some fashion.

Not quite sure how Mercedes beat Audi to Level 3 autonomy. Audi had the technology ready on the A8 in 2017, but seems to have gotten mired in approval protocols and liability conundra, which Mercedes appears to have solved. I wonder if Mercedes has accepted to take on full liability for any accidents happening under

Just waiting for the news that someone tried to take one of those through TSA at Fort Lauderdale’s airport. Would only be the second weirdest thing someone tried to smuggle into a plane there... I guess Florida Man’s logic was “if gun won’t protect me, salmonella will!"

The 1977 Saab 99 Turbo and its extraordinary Inca wheels approve!

Oh wow, who knew!! Some of that SEO chasing might also explain some of the weird Kinja behavior when attaching multiple pictures, which leads to exponential numbers of duplicates you have to then carefully delete. Thanks for the enlightenment!

Just a precision that Impulse is not momentum, but the change in momentum, meaning Impulse = p_fnal - p_initial or Δp. An indeed Δp= F_avg *time_collision.

Yeah, kinja lost the ability to provide clickable links in the comments some 3 years ago and it was never fixed because the fabled kinja developers were either fired or hit by a bus or both long before that. Normally, I just post the http link and hope anyone who cares will copy and paste it on their browser’s address

Indeed, we will learn how much they have allowed for crumple zones when we get the NHTSA NCAP and EURO NCAP ratings, but people should be aware that even if the Cybertruck were to get zero stars, it would be sold to the public as long as it passes the minimum federal safety requirements (not quite sure what those are).

Yeah, it was posted on YouTube some 12h after my comment. Not sure why it took longer to edit if it was already available on the NBC site when I made the comment.

I thought tiny-ass bag (not on Youtube, but available as a clip on the NBC site) was surprisingly quite funny...

Here’s a suggestion to deal with unruly passengers: As soon as the doors of the plane close and all the passengers are in their seats, as reported by the crew, the pilots flood the inflight cabin with xenon, a noble gas which is an anesthetic with no side effects. Everybody will sleep like babies for the duration of

They sold the S213 E450 Station Wagon, which has the same inline-6 as the E53, just in a detuned form, but still pretty powerful. There’s a bunch of used ones in the market now, but they tend to be overpriced.

This sparked some morbid curiosity on what an orange first-gen Q45 would have looked like. This ignominious thing is all I could find, and now I’ve thrown up a bit in my mouth...

The CLE is a good-looking design, and the flared arches here give it a nice stance, though the overall design for the AMG version ends up being a bit over the top. However, the C-Class interior and platform, and the conspicuous presence of B pillars really render it as not a viable replacement for the outgoing E-Class

Very astute observation. Reminds me of some program notes for the 2nd movement of Shostakovich’s 10th symphony (which Shostakovich claimed to be a portrait of Stalin’s violent rule over the USSR). The notes stated that the syncopated chords at the beginning symbolize Stalin crushing Russians under his boot. Perhaps

At least here they were acting out of stupidity.

Totally agree, but it’s not easy to find a $200k vehicle that is truly about sporty utility and not some cynical profit cash cow like the SUVs from Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Ferrari are (though the Purosangue is actually a pretty design).

Not sure anyone bought a Ferrari FF either (never seen one in the wild I can remember). I would argue finding someone to pay 5-figure+ numbers for ugly-designed cars is part of it, but then Mansory still exists, so who knows...
