The clutch packs are "open" (not engaged) when in N so The durability tradeoff in coasting in N is the increased clutch wear when you reengage D after coasting. The engine and DSG always match revs and speed, etc. so going from N back to D after coasting might put the engine and trans out of sync.

Coasting in neutral on DSG cars is definitely not good for the transmission or clutches. Its not your car, so I know you don't care (I wouldn't either) - but just something to be aware of.

The height and curvature of that wing screams P1 to me, but the roof section and sudden drop off behind the cab are what makes this a tough call.

Truth in 24 I and II

What should it be called instead? The 2002. Everybody gets that.

There's a lot more to cars than straight line stats….

Anyone else really bothered that nobody filming this thought to call 911 or look for anyone that might need medical attention, etc.? (Watched this at work with no volume so forgive me if someone did either of those things).

They should call it the Hellkitten. Because that would be hilarious……..ly awesome.

=( wow, really sorry to hear all that. Definitely sounds like you got the bad egg of the bunch. I too had the issue with the strut pucks being left in - that was certainly a dealer issue and not VW.

What happened to your 7?

Can confirm. Absolutely in love with my Mk7 GTI.

Thats actually a perfect way to put it - never thought of it that way before.

Agreed, but not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. In fact, I've completely forgotten that the amber portion is there lol.

My modern German car does not have this issue.

Cannot be unseen. (And for the record, the Kizashi is the better looking car out of these two.)

There's something very disconcerting about this intersection between the headlight, hood, and grille. Not a very cohesive design.

Have you sat in one? It's actually a nice interior with a very conservative and refined approach. Also, the infotainment screen retracts into the dash when its not in use. The screen itself is also impressively thin.

Mk7 R lands early 2015. ~300 hp, AWD. Price will be in the mid to upper 30s.

My absolute favorite car of all time.

All has been well in my Mk7 GTI!
