I drive a GTI and about half the hot hatch drivers around me are likewise female. And Millennial, too, for the bonus round in stereotype-jacking.

This has also been my experience. The GTI is a hard car to hate...usually.

The people who need care are the poor parents and family of the murdered children. The care for this monster should be an afterthought.

The shoe fits on the other foot, too. JFK would be considered, today, at most a moderate, and possibly even a neo-con. But he was a liberal in his time, in the classical way.

I LOLed.

I actually... kind of love this.

MANATEE CARCASS

Let's take another look at maternity/paternity leave in this country, then we can talk.

This isn't really new, and McD's isn't the only chain that has begun doing this in certain markets that have a local calorie requirement; it's been going on for years and is more dependent on area than on the company.

Not necessarily true. For people with average-conditioned calf muscles and hamstrings, turnover must be increased, stride length kept static, and overall leg strength improved before lengthening stride (if ever). The forces involved in stopping your swinging leg when using a too-long stride (which don't use calf

I'm pretty sure even OKCupid has a better survey engine than this. What a pile of crap.

That made no sense gloriously.

Volt. The concept was a gorgeous car, with design cues taken from the Camaro, CTS and Stealth bombers. The production model looks like it was designed by a committee of Chevy's accountants.

Probably :)

What I found appealing about the GTi (husband has an '08.5 MS3) is its understated, no-fanfare style, its utter lack of hype or showiness. It's a sleeper. It's kind of dumpy. If you know the MkV, then you know; if you don't, I'm just some chick driving a little red hatch with cartoony crop-circle wheels.

It's joy.

True.

I agree that t sounded old-fashioned, but I remember a significant subset of Jezebel readers getting upset by the use of the term "female" as an adjective... so I think "female dentist" would've bothered many, and "lady dentist" too. They really couldn't win with this one.

Not only is that terrifying, but I had a large molar removed two summers ago and that (previously root-canalled) sucker didn't go quietly. It took about an HOUR of pulverizing and "Okay, you're going to feel a LOT of pressure now, so hold on."

Good observation, that.
