I wish the wife’s Acura 2018 TLX had a manual. Don’t get me wrong, as automatics go, the 8AT in it is actually a pretty good transmission, but that car would be far better with a dogleg 7MT.

I had one, a 2013 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins and the 6MT.  It was awesome to drive until all the ancillary systems started crapping out.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, passing all the bro-dozers, Jeeps, and Range Rovers stuck in the median, crashed into the K-rail, or in the ditch while calmly and sensibly driving all the way home with no issues.

Living in the northeast US, you need to be prepared for any weather. Doesn’t matter if you’re flying or driving. There will be weather. A few years ago I accompanied my wife on a business trip she had to Spain. I rented a vehicle for the week and got a Jeep Renegade. A diesel, 6-speed manual Jeep renegade. Maybe not the specific vehicle I would want, but a diesel, 6-speed manual something would be great.

Here’s the biggest I ever owned...

The smallest cat in the stable right now is a Mk.7 Golf R (6MT). That’s the smallest car I’ve ever owned, and it’s about as small as I would go. For reference, the other 2 vehicles currently here are a 2021 Bronco 4dr, and a 2017 Acura TLX.

Quit with all the cookie-cutter SUV/crossover whatevers and bring back real station wagons!
