Course they do. Friggin cable operated. Haters do hate, even irrationally.
And my ‘08 fully loaded AWD Passat is the most reliable and all-round best driving car I’ve ever had — that includes the usual Asian suspects. I have like 5 coworkers and a couple friends with VWs that are also trouble free. That mid-2000's hate is really strong I guess.
The B6 Passat sport seats rock.
The most reliable engine in VW's inventory, aside from the MY2008+ 3.6 VR6 and despite the necessary valve cleaning, which seems to be needed at 100k miles+.
