The first bottle of champagne as a celebration at the end of a race was actually popped by American legend Dan Gurney 50 years ago at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“Speedback GT.” Hmmm... *off to google*

Love the part where he straps the bag of cat food to the roof:

Ya know what..? I actually don’t mind the 400/412. I realize I may be in the minority here, but thats not a terrible looking car imo.

Holy crap.....I walked past that gigantic thing in Los Osos CA while on vacation back in March of 2016. That’s definitely Morro Bay in the background, so it has to be the same beast. I was so confused by the whole thing that I didn’t even notice the car stuffed into the back.

At least Honda didn’t let Alonso down at Indy......oh.... never mind

SLR kid

Holy crap I remember when this was first posted to Jalopnik, laughing my ass off at a cramped college dorm desk. Oh how far we’ve come in ten years of automotive memes, every one of them as timeless as ever. There’s gotta be more!

NEMESIS!

Yes, the Aston Martin DB9 is now known as the Maserati Ghibli apparently. A car with an extra set of doors not shown on film apparently.

Came here to post this. Here are the reasons I think it is:
1. Vent in low back window area.
2. Back window appears to be blacked out. If engine is back there, no one should see it.
3. Side windows appear to be blacked out. If engine is back there, no one should see it.
4. Windshield half covered. With top half

They should use another track in addition to the ring. If they win both, they would hold the coveted ‘two roads, one cup’

As contractually obligated:

I’ve got an 80's mercedes SEC. Makes me look pretty small and I’m 6'2. They’re massive for a 2 door coupe. Longer and wider than the full size 4 door Landcruisers were back then.

*rolls eyes*

Also, Matt Farah used to run a business with Larry Kossilla from AMMONYC & DRIVE CLEAN, and they together owned a Shelby Cobra.

I one day plan to write that story!

What is that a 60" wheelbase in the sketch? Overhang for days.

Didn’t work.
