As the former owner of a current-generation Mazda6, I can tell you, first-hand, that this is EXACTLY how I purchased the car... my 6'3" best friend and I (6'2" myself) got in the front of the car, and adjusted the seats. Then we got in the back seats and determined that, while headroom was short, our legs were fine.

Welcome to Jalopnik.  “Literally no reason...” is not a valid argument around these parts.

More or less, yes.  The numbers actually spin sideways, rather than “rolling down” like an old-school odo... and they DO perform it in sequence, right-to-left.

Hey, you said some stuff I agree with, and some other stuff I don’t, but I HAVE to argue that, with 486 rwhp (compared to 415 CRANK horsepower stock), your ‘butt dyno’ is REALLY going to feel that difference!  We’re talking at least 100 horsepower difference here.

My wife and I literally cross-shopped the 2014 Mazda6 against BMW. Since it wasn’t (supposed to be) MY daily-driver, I didn’t mind that it was FWD. We BOTH agreed that the initial quality and feel of components were superior to the Bavarians. We were not disappointed with our 6.

We now own a CX-9 Grand Touring, as

It’s been there a while, so I’m sure you could talk them down a bit:

I have questions.

Cool.

Typical of the coverage we’re getting on the weekend these days.  While most of us aren’t happy about it, this take is immature and uneducated.

SPLOOSH

“Just buy what you want and have fun.”

No. I think you’re omitting the “style” factor. This is why I believe the two are not competitors.

It sure is a good thing some people are around to point this out.

I doubt it.  Everybody knows “a guy,” or “my relative that...” or something.  There always has to be a contrarian.

Alright, so there are three people that at one time, considered both an overweight, old-school, V-twin tourer, and the most technologically advanced version of rapid 2-wheeled continent crossers.

They’re completely different classifications; “high-tech touring device” for one, and “continuing the old ways of crossing the country with style” for the other.  I wouldn’t consider them competitors at all.

I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to hazard a wager that this Indian and the Goldwing aren’t even remotely sharing the same buying population.

While I can personally guarantee you this car is a RIOT to drive, $8k is wholly unreasonable for this vintage Merc.  Get it for $6k, and Bob’s your uncle.

I have told them, bluntly, that I will buy it when it comes.  As the former owner of a current-generation Mazda6, even.  I’ve bought new from them before, and will again, when they bring the 6 wagon/diesel/manual/whatever.

Exactly why I have a ZX-12R in my stable!
