ACK! My parents still drive the Town Car version of this barge and for some inexplicable reason, they love it. It’s falling apart. They spend hundreds every few months repairing it (when they can find the parts,) and I can’t talk them out of this rolling deathtrap.
TWS is my home track. I have thousands of laps there.
The oval is NOT sinking. The idea that it is may come from the fact that the STANDS along the front straight have been condemed due to problems with the the foundation in places.
The oval is not used for several reasons. Mainly, organizations that want to use it (the…
I’ll bet LeBlanc can drive and talk at the same time.
Was really hoping this was Martin Shkreli’s car.
Well a car guy didn’t do the animation. Or maybe an ignorant car guy did. Archer is steering the WRONG WAY as he pulls onto the pavement. He’s steering to the left when he should be counter-steering to the right. (In the clip with Tom Selleck, he’s counter-steering.)
Meh — just hand the phone to the nearest toddler. Toddlers LOVE talking on the phone.
Good for you. Have fun and take lots of pictures!
So you know Mr. Clarkson personally?
Come in, this is his schtick. It may also be genuine, but that’s irrelevant. This is how a public figure remains a public figure. unless you’re constantly on TV or radio, you occasionally have to do something to get people talking about you (and in this respect, his column worked…
What asshole put a PepBoys sunroof on that car?!?
He *does* have a face for radio.
You’re missing the point. For cars, hydrogen isn’t an energy source. It’s an energy storage medium. You invest energy by cracking water to get hydrogen. You draw down on that investment by consuming the hydrogen. Of course you’re going to lose energy doing that — you always do. You never get 100% of the energy you put…
I had a Ford F150 for several years with their Sync system. So no, I never used it. I *tried* to use it several times, but never actually used it.
It takes energy to get gasoline into a car too. You have to:
- pump it into the car’s tank
- haul it from the distribution hub to the filling station
- pump it from the refinery to the distribution station
- refine it at the refinery
- haul the oil from the storage facility to the refinery
- pump the oil from the field to…
Correct. It would be more EFFICIENT to use the energy needed to extract hydrogen and use it directly. which makes sense of you’re powering a house or a factory.
But we’re talking about a CAR. And that’s where things shift from outright efficiency (not fuel economy, but the efficient storage of energy — Joules per…
I did notice a mid-spin correction — 0.7 points deducted for that.
That would probably be the one at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California.
Let’s hope these screens last longer than the one in my old A4 did. they were notorious for dying just out of warranty. And they were non-serviceable. You had to replace the entire instrument cluster.
Nice.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. All this is an unfounded statement that gets people’s conspiracy theory juices flowing.
