Math is hard.
Math is hard.
Yeah, 1 of 5 is 20%. 700,000 is hardly 20% of the American population of 329 million. Math is apparently hard when you’re trying to crank out blog articles as quickly as possible without an editor.
If everyone is going to get it then it makes sense to try to be at the end of that line because chances are treatments are only going to improve (look at that Merk drug that is probably coming out soon). Of course, if you’re vaccinated then there’s a pretty good chance you won’t get it but that’s not a reason to drop…
“has already killed 700,000 Americans, or about 1 of every 5 of us”
Might need to check the math - 700k dead v. 331MM population is .2%, not “1 in 5", it’s “1 in 500"...still a lot, but incorrect as written.
IMO there is nothing wrong with ‘touristy’ things. I feel if you’re spending the time and money to go someplace, then you should do the things you want to do there even of other people think it’s ‘cringe’.
These stories always have legs, so that parents can continue to justify taxing their kids’ Trick or Treat bags indiscriminately.
Dont forget about Sugru! I've fixed lots of cables with that stuff.
Why not?
COVID Vaccine!
You were doing it right and i am PROUD of you!
Whew! I was bracing myself for some new elaborate, precious process. Glad to know the old-fashioned fork is still best. Thanks for the confirmation!

I need to hit the Powerball so I can buy an island nation…
I don’t doubt that some percent of state representatives in these states are elected due to gerrymandering or voter suppression rather than the actual will of the people. But it seems somewhat disingenuous to act like these laws necessarily wouldn’t exist if voting were perfectly accessible in these states. The fact…
i save those up with my shrunken sweaters and worn out t shirt rags to stuff into old pillowcases or other cloth bags to make cat beds. my cats love bags full of bags as bedding.
Interesting about the fabric mask change. I use fabric masks with a paper insert, so there are three layers total. They fit far better than any paper mask I’ve ever used. Hopefully that remains acceptable in the US anyway.
I agree about the realities of the real world, but that doesn’t mean we condone illegal behavior. And we certainly shouldn’t adjust our behavior to make it easier for others to break the law. Also, baristas make a hell of a lot more than servers, who REALLY DO depend on tips. We need to be getting away from this…
Naomi says that if you can’t or won’t tip, you should stay home.
This. Why do people always get this shit wrong? You have to report cash transactions. You have to report tips. You have to report online purchases.
