That was my thought as well. The answer to the question: we still don’t know.

In my experience, there are a lot of ways to improve once you have the fundamentals of movement and a base level of fitness. What works for you is going to be dependent on what your ultimate goal is, how your body works (everyone is a little different), the amount of time you’ve got to devote to working out, what the…
I remember one of my first teachers telling us to not move our hand that was holding the scissors but, rather, to move the paper (but she probably used more little kid friendly words) and demonstrating how to cut out a few shapes by just opening and closing the scissors while keeping that hand otherwise still, feeding…
I went the exact opposite direction when I got my vaccine. But I was able to get mine early (both shots in January). Multiple people thanked me for posting about my experience with getting the vaccine, how I registered, how I qualified, what the process for getting the shot was like, what my side effects were, etc.…
Where I live the registration form lists “overweight/obese” with no further details/qualifiers as one of the underlying conditions. That’s like 75% (or more) of the adult population. I’ve joked multiple times that this is the only time that my love of cookies and ice cream has worked in my favor.
In late December I read a post on Reddit that had a link to sign up for the COVID vaccine in my county in North Texas. One of the “pre-existing conditions” you could self-identify as having was “overweight/obese”. There were no qualifications to that category on the form. Because I too am fat I checked the box. I…
I was fortunate to get mine fairly early (first dose in early January). I posted about it on Facebook and mentioned my experience with the process. Lots of people replied and it started some good conversations so I continued to post updates about my side effects for both doses (minor for the first. Chills and fever…
After my knee surgeries I used ankle weights in PT as my muscles recovered their strength. At the PT office, they had actual weights. At home I put cans of food in long socks and tied them around my ankles. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked nicely. And adding more weight was as easy (and cheap) as adding another can of…
I had a coworker who, upon introduction to the group gave an obviously well rehearsed 5 second speech about how to pronounce her first name. She said her first name. Told us it was four syllables, enunciated each syllable and ended by saying her name again. She said it loudly, confidently, quickly (but not so quick…
Or you could dump the water into a mug and make yourself some tea.
Yes for biscuits and especially pie crust where you want things flaky, you want there to be chunks of butter still together in the dough. The best way to do that is to start with butter as cold as you can get it (frozen is great) and stop and chill the dough as needed.
I would recommend checking the local health department’s web site. I know my health department’s phone line has crazy long wait times because everyone wants information...and a vast majority of that information is available on the web site, including the link to the site to register for the vaccine.
I don’t mind wearing masks when I’m out in stores and such. But I will be very glad for when I don’t have to wear them at church (also looking forward to being able to sit near people again and giving each other hugs and being able to congregate and chat inside the building before and after service) and even more so…
A glass jar also works. You just have to make sure your jar isn’t ice cold and your grease isn’t boiling hot. Or, you can go with a metal can from something else (for those who don’t drink coffee which comes in a metal can. Mom has always drank instant coffee. Dad doesn’t drink coffee. I drink tea. I had a rough…
I agree about the more store specific giftcards. I don’t drink coffee and only visit Starbucks when I have a gift card I need to use (and then usually only when I’m in airports and want a cookie...or that’s when I went in the before times...stupid pandemic) and I can’t get someone to buy it off me. And yet, I still…
Really good cheese. Nice chocolate. Expensive ice cream. Name brand stuff that’s not on sale...I can spend a lot on groceries without trying hard at all. But with a little planning, effort and discipline, I can get perfectly acceptable, healthy and good tasting groceries for significantly less.
Definitely go with a French silk pie. I’m allergic to pumpkin and refuse to make a pie I can’t eat. So I make a French silk and an apple with a crunchy, caramel pecan topping. There’s usually leftover pumpkin pie. But I always take my pie plates home empty (and clean! They also give me my pick of leftovers to pack up…
I prefer the masks with the strings which tie/go around the back of my neck and back of my head. I not only find them more comfortable than the type which hook around your ears is that I can loosen the cord lock I have on the string and just wear the mask around my neck. It’s kinda like a weird bib, but it works,…
Sounds like you need to look into making some Epbot masks: https://www.epbot.com/2020/07/video-tutorial-these-foam-face-masks.html
I’ve been doing this for years. I figured out many years ago that I pay attention to something, particularly if it’s audio only (or the video is boring) if I have something to do with my hands. Sometimes doodling helps. I take notes during church and Bible study. But for work meetings (when I’m not taking notes), disc…
