I had the phone mount in the same place as you and it works fine. The problem is that I look at the phone and not the road. I have a Navdy and my phone is just plugged into my USB port charging while I drive. I don’t even look at it while driving anymore.

Works great with my Maui’s. Navdy is the only Hud that I’ve used that will work with sunglasses.
