I have no idea what half of these shows even were. Was Deception the magician one?

I think The Expanse is the best sci fi show since Battlestar ended. This just sucks.

Well, if you also cancel Gotham that means I will be down to only disappointment-watching The Simpsons on Fox.

That might be fair. I’ve always read it as her jerking him around because she doesn’t think about other people.

This and Notting Hill are the only two Julia Roberts romantic comedies I like and she’s essentially a terrible, selfish person in both.

I get why Ra’s is so obsessed with Bruce. I even got Jerome’s obsession. I really don’t get why Jeremiah sees him as anything other than a traumatized rich kid. (And Jesus Christ Wayne Manor needs better security.)

Judd and Shannon are both great in this - it’s like a master class in the difference between overacting and just really, really committing to the crazy - but it’s a hard sell to sit back through it. Everything is so viscerally unpleasant.

I actually like that idea. The supervillains of the Roger Moore era would probably find modern Bond tiresomely broody.

Haley standing up for herself was nice. Otherwise this just felt tired and lazy. It’s one thing if your characters are supposed to be unrepentant assholes (like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) but all of these people used to have positive traits, too.

God, I wish that were true.

Spaceballs is not a movie I’ve ever really loved - it has some great bits but doesn’t really approach the Young Frankenstein/Blazing Saddles level - but Moranis is my favorite part of it. Recasting Darth Vader as an angry, neurotic nerd somehow just works.

This sounds like the opening lyric to a bad acoustic indie album.

“We are Groot” is the moment that made me realize I genuinely cared about those characters. Still gets me.

Homer and Marge’s date night was actually kind of sweet. Homer made an effort. Then the story swerved over to Flanders and couldn’t even pick a plot there. He’s joining the nuclear plant and Homer won’t like him in his new role! No, he’s going to become a teacher and for some odd reason this becomes a test of Flanders

It’s a pretty awful episode otherwise but the “Carl goes home to Iceland” episode from about five years ago really stressed how half-hearted most of Homer’s friendships are. As overbearing as he can be, Flanders is always there for Homer.

Just like Donald Duck. Dude, if you want to join the Navy, put some damn pants on.

Michelle Williams is only a few years younger and a wonderful actress but I don’t think she’s demonstrated quite Theron’s range. Theron’s ability to switch between drama, comedy, action, and everything else is really remarkable.

I think Men, Women, and Children had a lot of problems (Jesus Christ is it melodramatic) but I read a lot of reviews that seem to think Jennifer Garner’s character was meant to be the voice of the movie’s view on the Internet and that’s clearly ridiculous. The movie shows her recognizing her own hysteria after it

He-man mini-comics.

I love Lithgow in just about everything - he was delightful last year in Trial and Error - but my favorite Lithgow has to be Terms of Endearment. He doesn’t have much screen time but he makes a big impression.
