Man, this site is such an alternate reality. He was citing a peer-reviewed paper, Ryan’s arguments don’t refute the paper. If you don’t like the argument, or don’t want to believe it ... fine, but it was totally connected to reality. Please think more critically.

Oh no, how dare people who drive cars... “us[e] all the range there is”? I fill my ICE cars’ gas tanks to the top, and refill when they’re down to about 10% capacity, and that’s just what you do with cars. If it’s considered “abuse” to do the same thing with a Tesla, well, that just means a Tesla isn’t really a

I remember getting all kinds of flak for pointing out what a nightmare owning these things would be when the Hertz story first came out. Glad to see I was right.

I don’t think you understand what a “fun fact” is.

Loved this in the few vehicles I’ve owned that had it.

Ahem...

All for this, but....

I am not condoning any of this but I would pick a good ol boy drinking a tall boy on the way home from work than the people watching Reels on their phones while driving.

Also an old here.  I remember that when you engine turned off at a stop light, your day just took a turn for the worse.  I still feel cringy when I’m in a car that has the start-stop feature.

I mean it is illegal to cross the boarder illegally. I blame the government for it to even get this far.

Yeesus, Bradley. This article is bad, your take is bad & short sighted, and your responses to the comments seem to be the equivalent of “I know you are but what am I,” second grade playground chat. Gosh, coming to Jalopnik is like opening the fridge 100 times when you are hungry hoping that something delicious

Wtf is this nerd shit.

You’ve never driven out West have you?

With respect, I disagree. We should be allowed to be as stupid as we like. Myself included. Too much safety, especially forced safety, can be a bad thing.

I know i’m getting old when an 80mph limiter doesn’t piss me off 😆. But 70 limit for highways are a no go for me. I couldn’t imagine taking a road trip being in some of the vast emptiness of the midwest with only a 70mph limit. there’s plenty of 75 & 80 zones out there where appropriate.

This feels a bit like we are being trolled.

That’s what I was wondering. There have been a couple of articles about this scandal but none of them mentioned what the ‘device’ was and if it was hardware or software.

But that would require the author to actually perform some writing.

Just like VW and Dieselgate, Software recognized when it was in the EPA Cycle and ran EPA related emissions for it. All the rest of the time it did not.

As good as you make this sound, the logic is off.
