Not with that guy’s abysmal technique.
Not with that guy’s abysmal technique.
Which is the most unappealing delivery vector for Trump’s messages: the prolapsed cat anus he calls a mouth, his blunt breakfast sausage fingers, or Sean Spicer?
I always thought Christ preached loving thy neighbor and being not a dick. It appears these people found his secret teachings about being absolute gutter humans.
It seems peculiar to me that anyone arguing for the right to self-identification would be trying to tell me that my definition of myself is wrong.
Trust me, I am intimately familiar with what it means to be gay.
You’re definitely off-base on that. I have a niece who is trans and have defended her countless times against bigotry. However, I don’t think it’s sensible to argue that the average gay man is a) in a relationship with a transman or b) that the average gay man likes vaginas.
If you are a gay man—not a transman, which is a pretty willful misinterpretation of what I was saying—and you regularly enjoy sticking your penis into a vagina, you are not gay.
I’m not sure why The Orville would be a “no.” It looks funny, sweet, and is likely to be the best Star Trek show that we get this year. I get that it’s hot to hate on Seth MacFarlane, but give the guy some credit: he brought back Cosmos and seems to have a genuine love for science and sci-fi.
And not doing labels is fine, but it’s what left the door open for Hopkins to appear as a straight dude who likes forcing himself on women while cynically hiding under the blanket of being “queer.” The latter portion of that, people identifying as non-binary for specialness points despite clearly being binary, is not…
I don’t mind heated responses. People who get angry over the Internet don’t deserve my response.
And yes, genderqueer is gender term, but these guys have just been using it to mean everything.
I understand not identifying with the absolutes, but the correct answer to that is devising terminology that can accommodate that so that there aren’t a lot of generic terms.
The article and the singer’s statement referred to the victim as she/her. They/them pronouns really feel arbitrary and artificial.
Yeah, that makes sense, although I don’t know any gay men who have exclusively female partners, as Hopkins seems to have had.
I feel like it’s a matter, again, of specificity. A bottom is a man who likes having receptive anal sex from other men. There’s every indication that these two chose the term “Power Bottom” for their band merely to be provocative.
Neither identifies as a gay male, and one of them is straight or bisexual, which really…
Your opinion is just as legitimate as mine, so don’t worry about sounding combative. I think it’d be gauche—I think the term ‘offensive’ has been abused to the point of losing its meaning—for a gay man to go around identifying as “lipstick” or a “dyke” to everyone and acting surprised when people call him out on the…
I’m a little dazzled and very interested in the conversation going on, so it’s not a big burden. On the one hand, I’m over on io9 mocking the alt-Right for being upset about Star Trek: Discovery as a “social justice warrior” show because it dares to be inclusive.
And, of course, that makes it okay to stomp all over that section of the community, according to the unwritten laws of social justice. This, by the way, is the sort of uneven identity politics that alienates people on the Left and provides ample fodder for the criticisms of the batshits on the political Right: the…

Yeah, it’s cultural appropriation. Unfortunately, I find that there are an awful lot of white men who think that saying ‘nigga’ is cool, too. The gay community doesn’t really have the political power to stop people from playing dress-up with our culture and then excusing it to themselves.
