Hmmm — I never noticed any lag. Maybe your TV is introducing it? To me, the flying felt natural right off the bat, including hairpin turns and leveling out. The only thing I had any issue with was a tendency to bank left when I flapped, and that was my fault for not holding the controller level when I flicked it

I love all the comments missing the point. "It's not perfect, but it's better than the others..." and such. Of course it is. The first airplane built by the Wright brothers was better than anything that came before it, but that doesn't mean it was ready for public use.

The problem is that swordplay in this game fundamentally requires motion controls. There's no way to map that kind of thing to button presses, unless there were separate buttons for "slash from the left" and "slash from the right" and "slash diagonally up and to the right."

There are a lot of legitimate complaints to level against the motion controls in Skyward Sword (the first few bomb puzzles in Eldin Volcano made me want to kill somebody), but I seriously don't understand the complaints about flying. The only reason anybody should be stuck flying like a "drunken sailor" is if they

Skyward Sword was sort of the opposite of Twilight Princess in that they got the sword controls pretty much spot-on, but completely botched the pointer controls. By eliminating the sensor bar from the equation, the pointer is now just interpreted from gyroscope information (which is why you have to manually recenter

But remembering the characters' names!?!? I'm duly impressed. That kind of pop-culture knowledge doesn't come without dedication!

Wow. That's remarkably obscure.

Because most simple stories require hours of tedious dialogue and exposition.

They have this exact conversation in House of the Dead: Overkill.

I love Bayonetta. Some of the most fun I've ever had in a video game.

It's always subjective, but I'll never understand the clamor about MGS's story. It's laborious and barely makes any sense. Without looking it up on a wiki afterwards, it's nearly impossible to tell what the hell is going on. And the symbolism is laid on so thick that it stops being symbolism.

Nope. That's not what I meant.

Yeah — Bayonetta is obviously related to DMC, but I never liked DMC as much. That's not to say I didn't like it, but I never loved it. The addition of the dodge offset to Bayonetta absolutely rewrote the rules for the better — I love being able to interrupt a combo and then carry on like nothing happened.

Hell yes. I love Platinum. They remind me of the Dreamcast era of incredibly creative, even if imperfect, games.

MGS4 was my most recent attempt, so perhaps it left a bad taste in my mouth. But I've tried them all, and I never get past the first few hours. Granted, after the first few hours, I've only actually played about 15 minutes since the game keeps showing me lengthy nonsensical movies with terrible voice acting instead

So... Conflicted...

But there are infinite dollars? I want your job.

How was the spaceship an illusion? I didn't understand what I was supposed to be noticing...

Cost issues are beside the point...

Here's the way it actually is
