Agreed, but the later concept art was far less interesting than the earlier stuff, so the fact that the game reflects it more accurately isn't too thrilling. I think xHotPotatox has it right below — corporate head honchos were afraid of taking risks with Mickey, and forced the game to get back in line.

I think that's what happened, too. Terrible shame — those first images were of a world I really would have wanted to explore.

Not remotely. It was a huge mistake to release the concept art in advance of the game reveal, because it set all sorts of expectations.

Figured this was coming.

A Chun Li cover and an article on the 50 best fighting games? This thing is really going for my generation. You know... people who remember when fighting games and print magazines were still relevant.

I know studies have been done at this stage, but most of the discussion happened before the studies were done. As a result, the issue keeps getting raised because people already "believe" that games cause violence.

Ha ha — I don't remember how or why I picked that as my icon.

This is the exact same sort of random conjecture that drives notions of games making children violent.

I'm a veterinarian — this happens to me all the time. At that point, if they're going to give me a finger, it may as well be the middle one.

Seriously. I can see that people don't want to be taken advantage of, and it's definitely true that some of the DLC trends are worrisome. But the drama queen tantrums coming from the gamer community have crossed the line into complete farce. When in the history of gaming was it possible to play a single game on

Do you leave your system on when you're finished playing?

What??? I can only play on two of my PS3s? What about the other four??

Captain N approves of the crossover.

Praytell... what revolutionary gaming experiences have been occupying your time of late? I can't wait to hear the list.

Ahhh... the glory days of MIDI music, hit counters, and blinking text.

It "seals in the color?" What does that mean? Is it like dietary supplements that "boost the immune system?"

Oh, on that we agree. People who use old broswers make things worse for everybody, and it's absurd considering that new browsers are free. I used to do web design, but not for many years now. Like... back when Netscape Navigator was still rocking the scene.

I use Firefox myself. But every time the new releases come out, I try them all, and I remain fairly well convinced of one thing:

"Caveat: inflated carbon footprint guilt."

I'm with you on this. Every time another GTA comes out, I get all pumped up by the stream of perfect reviews. And then I buy it, and I wonder when I'll learn my lesson. After all these games, Rockstar still hasn't hired anybody who understands how cars drive or how people move, nor have they bothered to create a
