That’s exactly my point, the looks of both the i3 and the e36/8 are polarizing... probably why I’m drawn to such cars!
Thanks ATSR, to end the story BMW did end up doing the right thing and bought back my car. I went back into a dino-powered car given the price of gas these days and wanting to do more road-trips, maybe they’re having the last laugh since I’m back in another Bimmer but at least it’s been reliable!

I’ve been leasing an all-electric i3 since 11/2014, putting on close to 10,000mi. Overall the i3 has a lot going for it, it’s quite peppy and fun thanks to it’s weight-savings diet and being the only RWD option in it’s price point.
