And why wouldn’t they? They were doing nothing but sitting in a car when a cowboy shows up and points a gun at them. They had as much right to protect themselves as him. He shouldn’t have been confronting anyone with a flipping gun.

“This running car I walked directly in front of on a public street and pointed a gun at is coming right for me! Better open fire, my life is suddenly in danger!”

So you’re walking down the street at night because it strikes your fancy. Someone sees you (from within the safety of their own home) and decides they are in danger, and runs out to point a gun at you, that’s okay? No. Not okay. That is how people get killed. Pointing a gun at people just standing around or sitting in

Actually, they might be covered by Stand Your Ground in trying to run him over. From their viewpoint, he was a stranger who suddenly appeared and threatened to murder them without cause.

The man’s story is also bad since it’s effectively his confession to brandishing a weapon and attempted murder. You can’t shoot a fleeing suspect in the back, no matter what they did before, if they are no longer presenting an imminent threat. That is well established law.

Wait... who panicked again? The guy who heard a noise, grabbed a gun, went outside, and shot at people who said something... or the kids in a car?

Even if his version is plausible, he should still be charged with, at the very least, reckless endangerment for firing at a fleeing vehicle.

Erm..not really, no. If he did step in front of the car, had to move out of the way and then fired as it was driving away it’s really unlikely he hit the car, much less multiple times. It’s easy to miss bullet holes in the dark, and car tires won’t just blow up after a single bullet like in the movies; a single bullet

What the fuck is wrong with people? This man needs to be arrested, it isn’t 1880s Wild Wild West. And it isn’t Pokemon Go’s fault - they could have easily been making a phone call, looking at Google Maps because they were lost, or even pulled over to take a quick nap because they were on a road trip and decided to not

So he shot at people who just happened to be parked in front of his house.... So why should people have guns again? They weren’t even on his property and he started open firing at people. Funny how two people were together, they were parked, they weren’t playing while driving, they were aware of their surroundings,
